Member Spotlight: How Scar and Pain Solutions Helps Clients Heal Naturally

Chelle Peterson

For Erik Anderson, Founder of Scar and Pain Solutions, helping clients heal and find relief from their pain has become a point of passion.

Since 2016, Erik has been working with his clients to naturally and permanently reduce scars and the pain that can arise from them.

Seeing Scars for What They Really Are

The first thing Erik is quick to explain is the fact that scars are a much broader thing than what we might typically imagine them as.

“What I do is help people to heal scars,” Erik explains. “But this isn’t just the esthetic scar. I help them heal the scar tissue underneath and restore natural function, mobility, and pliability. This reduces the pain and, in turn, reduces the visibility of the scar.”

He adds, “You might not realize it, but things like muscle tears and sprains are also scars and the same healing treatments can be applied to them as well.”

Erik also has a secondary focus: reducing chronic pain and stress in the body.

“Before I started focusing more on this new type of treatment, I was focused on pain therapy,” Erik says. “When pain decreases, stress goes away consciously. And what I do now is decrease pain and stress simultaneously so that the body can heal itself the way it’s supposed to.”

Making a Pivot Into a New Type of Treatment

Erik wasn’t always so focused on healing scars.

“My field of focus took a bit of a pivot,” Erik shares. “I went to Dallas for a new certification using these cool new devices, and that’s when I realized that scar tissue causes a lot of pain, stress, and dysfunction. So, that became my focus: I wanted to reduce scars and the discomfort that came with them.”

To do so, he started using a cutting-edge new tool.

“I use handheld electronic devices that are automatically tuned to the electronic frequency of the human body,” Erik elaborates. “The body recognizes this device as an extension of itself. Whereas certain tools, like TENS Units, take away pain really quickly, the frequency they use can cause stress down the road. It’s a short-term synthetic fix.”

He continues, “With this new type of tool, it’s not a synthetic treatment. It’s a holistic, natural treatment that gets everything working in harmony.”

Providing Instant Relief is Erik’s Reward

When it comes to sharing what he loves the most about his work, he doesn’t hesitate in his answer.

“The best thing about what I do is the instant relief I can give to somebody,” Erik shares. “They walk in and they walk out better. Sometimes they even get really emotional because they’ve been in pain for 30 years and now suddenly their body works again. As opposed to personal training, that can sometimes take months, or having to take drugs, there’s an instant benefit to this treatment that helps them feel better and means they don’t have to come back.”

Seeking a Comforting, On-Brand Space for Scar and Pain Solutions

As Erik’s business grew, he knew he needed to find a new workspace — one that fit his brand and made his clients feel at home.

“I was using a friend’s massage studio room for quite a while,” Erik says. “But it was getting too busy trying to coordinate between her and her clients and myself and my clients. So, I needed to find a place that was actually my own. I always wanted to have my own address instead of saying that my business was inside somebody else’s business.”

That’s when he came across The Post Workspaces.

“When I found The Post, I knew it was perfect for my needs,” Erik says. “My massage table takes up most of the room but there’s enough space for myself, my stool and desk, my patient, and my treatment table.”

Most importantly, it was a place that aligned with his brand and made his patients feel comfortable.

“I loved that I could have my own office,” Erik shares. “I had my own logo which was printed on my door. Unlike a number of other places I looked at, my space at The Post wasn’t too big and it wasn’t in a cold, dungeon-like area. It’s clean, modern, cool, and trendy. It’s open and airy and my patients can wait comfortably in the lounge area. And when people are coming in for treatment, the most important thing is for them to feel comfortable and at home.”

His new space has even been good for business.

“Being here has 100% helped grow my business,” Erik says. “Whenever people walk in, they comment on how great of a space it is. My office is small but when my patients walk in and see the shared area, it makes my office feel cozy.”

Planning Big Things for Scar and Pain Solutions

Looking ahead, Erik has big plans for his practice.

“In five years’ time, I’d like to have a clinic with multiple practitioners,” Erik shares. “That’s where I want to be. I want to have an even bigger offer with multiple staff helping even more people experience relief from their pain and stress. I’d also love to have contacts with some of the pro sports teams in Arizona.
