Spooky season is upon us! And whether you’re a big Halloween fan or not, there are tons of fun things to do in Tucson this month. 

Some of our top picks to get out and enjoy the city this month include family-friendly Halloween events at the Zoo and History museum, Oktoberfest with the best Arizona breweries, and live theater, music, and comedy shows. 

Here are 14 things to do in Tucson in October 2022. 

1. Tucson Meet Yourself

Date and Time: October 7-9; starts at 11:00 a.m. each day

Location: Jacomé Plaza (in front of the Joel D. Valdez Main Library, 101 N. Stone Ave.) and the surrounding city blocks. 

Cost: Free

What’s going on: Get ready for a weekend of fun, food, and folk music! There’s a jam-packed schedule of performances featuring amazing musicians and artists as well as food trucks, movement and wellness activities, and a lowrider car show.

2. The Four Seasons, Reimagined

Date and Time: Saturday, October 8 at 7:30 p.m.

Location: Tucson Symphony Orchestra, 2175 N. Sixth Avenue

Cost: Tickets between $50.00-66.00

What’s going on: Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons is one of the most famous pieces of classical music. Hear it live at the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, updated and refreshed for a 21st-century audience.  

3. Button Brew House Oktoberfest

Date and Time: Saturday, October 8 from 12:00-5:00 p.m.

Location: Button Brew House 6800 North Camino Martin #Suite 160

Cost: $39.00

What’s going on: Beer, bratwurst, and beats—a great way to spend the day! Tickets include a 0.5-liter glass stein and three 0.5 liter beer fills from local Arizona breweries. Live music will be on all day long, so you can sit back and enjoy some tasty brews and celebrate the season. 

4. Loft Film Fest

Date and Time: October 12-20, various times

Location: The Loft Cinema, 3233 E Speedway Blvd

Cost: All-access badges for $200.00 or pay for individual film showings  

What’s going on: Calling all film buffs! The Loft Film Fest is a curated collection of the best independent, foreign, and classic films. It’s a diverse program with movies aimed to challenge and inspire viewers while celebrating the artists and filmmakers who made them. 

5. Disney on Ice: Road Trip Adventures

Date and Time: October 13-16, various times

Location: Tucson Arena, 260 S Church Ave

Cost: Tickets start at $20.00

What’s going on: Join all your Disney favorites on this magical night to remember. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy, and stars from popular films like Aladdin, Moana, and Toy Story take to the ice in this exciting event. 

6. Tucson Classics Car Show

Date and Time: Saturday, October 15 from 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Location: The Gregory School, 3231 N Craycroft Rd

Cost: $10.00 for adults; children under 18 are free

What’s going on: Check out over 400 high-quality classic cars and hot rods on a large grass field. There will be a food court, beer and wine garden, and local vendors on-site. Prizes are up for grabs with the purchase of raffle tickets, and proceeds from the show go to support Pima JTED. 

7. Rob Schneider: I Have Issues Tour

Date and Time: Sunday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Rialto Theater, 318 Congress St

Cost: Tickets start at $35.00

What’s going on: There’s no better way to beat the “Sunday scaries” than to laugh the night away with award-winning comedian Rob Schneider. 

8. Boo at the Zoo 2022

Date and Time: October 21-23 and 29-30 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.

Location: Reid Park Zoo, 3400 Zoo Court

Cost: $11.00 for Zoo members and $13.00 for general admission

What’s going on: Get your spook on at this fun, family-friendly evening at the Zoo. There’s a variety of activities happening, including an illusionist show, meet-and-greet with favorite characters, and trick-or-treating throughout the Zoo.

9. Night at The Museum

Date and Time: Saturday, October 22 at 5:00 p.m.

Location: Arizona History Museum, 949 E. 2nd Street

Cost: $10.00 for adults, $8.00 for kids 7-13, and free for kids under 6

What’s going on: Another fun Halloween-themed event. Join the Arizona History Museum staff and volunteers for an evening of ghost tours, crafts and activities, a pumpkin-carving contest, and more! 

10. Cats

Date and Time: Saturday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m.

Location: Centennial Hall, 1020 East University Boulevard

Cost: Tickets start at $40.00

What’s going on: Cats is the longest-running Broadway musical, now touring throughout the country. Come see this fan favorite here in Tucson—you’ll be singing the songs long after the show ends!  

11. Fort Lowell Arts & Craft Fair

Date and Time: Saturday, October 22 at 10:00 a.m.

Location: Faith Tabernacle Church, 5011 E. Ft. Lowell Rd

Cost: Free entrance; bring money to shop

What’s going on: Come out and support local vendors and artists at this fall craft fair. A portion of the proceeds goes to help the Susan G. Komen Foundation. 

12. Revolution: The Music of the Beatles

Date and Time: Saturday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Location: Tucson Symphony Orchestra, 2175 N. Sixth Avenue

Cost: Tickets are between $18.00-$59.00

What’s going on: Everyone loves the Beatles! Enjoy this celebration of their music in a new symphonic tribute with top vocalists and musicians. The performance is paired with rare and unseen photos of the group that have never been seen before.  

13. Halloween Spooktacular

Date and Time: Saturday, October 29 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Location: Oro Valley Community Center (parking available at the nearby Town Hall, 11000 North La Cañada Drive)

Cost: Free entrance; bring money for food trucks and beverages

What’s going on: Games, crafts, trick-or-treating, and a live DJ—everything you want for Halloween weekend! 

14. Night of Fright

Date and Time: Saturday, October 29 from 5:00-8:30 p.m.

Location: Pima Air & Space Museum, 6000 E Valencia Rd

Cost: $25.00 per car for nonmembers, $20.00 for members

What’s going on: Another family-friendly Halloween option, complete with bounce houses, performances, and plenty of candy to go around.
