February is a busy month in Tucson, with two of the biggest events of the year, The Tucson Rodeo and the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show, drawing crowds of people from out of state. There’s sure to be lots going on in the restaurant district and downtown this month. 

There are also a variety of sporting or family-friendly events coming up, from dinosaurs and remote-control cars to football’s biggest game. 

Here’s our list of must-attend events in Tucson in February!

1. Dinos in the Desert at Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

Date and Time: December 2024 until April 27th, 2025  

Location: Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum,  2021 N. Kinney Rd. Tucson, AZ

Cost: $20-$30 

What’s going on: In this desert exhibition, experience the thrill of dinosaurs brought to life throughout the museum grounds. Great for the whole family to explore, learn, and immerse themselves in a world where dinosaurs roam, going on a journey back in time!

2. Stomp Concert

Date and Time: February 4th-5th 

Location: Centennial Hall, 1020 E University Blvd, Tucson, AZ 

Cost: $50+   

What’s going on: A worldwide phenomenon, Stomp is unlike any show you’ve ever seen. Premiering on Broadway in 1994, the show features a rotating cast of hugely talented performers who conjure up heart-pounding music, wicked dancing, and choreography on an array of everyday household objects, including brooms, garbage can lids, vacuum cleaners, hammers, and much more. An inventive and invigorating performance!

3. Arizona Statehood Day Open House

Date and Time: February 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Location: Arizona History Museum, 949 E 2nd St., Tucson, AZ 

Cost: Free, and no need to register. 

What’s going on: Join the Arizona Historical Society for an open house to commemorate Arizona’s Statehood Day. The museum is offering free admission and fun activities for history lovers of all ages. New exhibits also include historical artwork and displays on how the state became what it is today. 

4. Randolph R/C Track Grand Opening

Date and Time: February 8th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Location: Randolph Center, 200 S. Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ 

Cost: Free 

What’s going on: Get ready for the grand opening of Tucson’s newest remote control track, along with free food, fun, and r/c racing. All ages are welcome, but adult supervision is required for drivers under 16. Bring your r/c cars or trucks, but not gas-powered or larger than 1/10 scale. Hot dogs and lemonade will be served from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

5. Super Bowl Tailgate Party and Game Day Watch Party

Date and Time: February 9th 

Location: Catalina Brewing Company 6918 N. Camino Martin, #120, Marana, AZ 

Cost: Free   

What’s going on: Cheer on your favorite team at Marana’s original nano brewery/arcade/entertainment center that provides a variety of local craft beers.

6. Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Winter Showcase

Date and Time: February 13th at 10:00 a.m. to February 16th at 4:00 p.m. 

Location: Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Avenue, Tucson, AZ 

Cost: $13. Tickets go on sale January 16th, at all TTC outlets. 

What’s going on: This famous event returns for its 70th anniversary, with 40+ shows selling crystals, rocks, fossils, minerals, jewelry, and a theme of “Shades of Green”!  Browse for beads, apparel, home decor, and African crafts.  Two events will focus on Native American pieces, with items for sale and opportunities to commission your own artisan-crafted treasure.  

7. Valentine’s Day At Flandrau

Date and Time: February 14th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  

Location: Leo Rich Theatre 260 S Church Ave, Tucson, AZ

Cost: $25+

What’s going on: During the Valentine’s Day special event, planetarium show ticket holders will be able to visit Science Exhibits before or after their show anytime during the evening, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. There will be special music and romantic lighting effects. Explore our vast and fascinating universe through two floors of exhibits covering marine life, planetary science, and life on Earth!

8. Ballet Tucson – From Tucson With Love

Date and Time: February 14th at 7:00 p.m. and February 15th at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Location: Leo Rich Theatre 260 S Church Ave, Tucson, AZ

Cost: $34-$60 

What’s going on: Enjoy a selection of ballet performances, including Rubies, one of legendary choreographer George Balanchine’s most iconic works, a pas de deux balcony scene from William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and a vibrant new ballet choreographed by Chieko Imada and featuring the music of legendary Tucsonan Lalo Guerrero, Father of Chicano music. In partnership with the Tucson Desert Song Festival and Tucson Guitar Society.

9. Old Tucson Trail Run 4 Mile & 1 Mile

Date and Time: February 16th, with start times from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Location: 201 Kinney Rd. Tucson, AZ 

Cost: $10+  

What’s going on: Saddle up and head out for the popular TMC Sunrise at Old Tucson Trail Run!  The all-ages event appeals to runners and walkers who can choose either a 4-mile run or a family-friendly 1-mile walk/run, all on the grounds of the newly reopened Old Tucson,  America’s most legendary western film set. There will be a cash bar post-race, and you can pre-order a breakfast burrito for an additional $11.

10. The Tucson Rodeo & Parade

Date and Time: February 17th to 18th are Slack Rodeo Days, which are open to the public and are free to attend.

Location: Tucson Rodeo Grounds, 4823 S 6th Ave, Tucson, AZ 

Cost: Free

What’s going on: It’s the 100th anniversary of this unforgettable event with 55,000+ guests from around the country and the world. Tucson’s annual Celebration of the Cowboy (La Fiesta de los Vaqueros) is Southern Arizona’s oldest and most celebrated heritage event, centered around the Tucson Rodeo. Feel the excitement as professional rodeo’s best cowboys and cowgirls compete in six rodeo performances. Daily events include bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, women’s barrel racing, and bull riding. Don’t miss youth event,s including Mutton Bustin’ and the Junior Rodeo!  

11. Tucson Craft Beer Crawl 2025

Date and Time: February 22nd at 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Location: 119 E Toole Ave., Tucson, AZ 

Cost: $25-50. Ticket includes commemorative tasting glass + 30 (2oz) drink tickets

What’s going on: The annual beer-fest-meets-bar-crawl is back! There will be new beers, new venues, and more live music, plus perks (free non-alcoholic beer) for designated drivers. A map of participating breweries will be posted in early February. 

12. Tucson Bridal Expo

Date and Time: February 23rd from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Location: Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Avenue, Tucson, AZ 

Cost: Free, but tickets are required.

What’s going on: Visit a wide range of bridal vendors all in one place at Tucson’s premier bridal event, perfect for turning your dream wedding into reality! 13. Arts & Crafts Festival at Fry’s on Silverbell

Date and Time: February 28th and March 1st from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and March 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. 

Location: Fry’s, 7850 North Silverbell Road, Tucson, AZ

Cost: Free 

What’s going on: The Arts & Crafts Festival is three days of creativity and fun. Find a variety of handmade crafts, unique artworks, and many treasures not found anywhere else.
