If you’re a member of The Post, you know our team goes above and beyond to make your experience here an outstanding one.
And our Community Manager, Chelsea Dietz, plays a massive role in making that happen.
But what exactly does that involve?
We spoke with Chelsea to learn a little bit about the average day in her life and how she helps make The Post an incredible professional hub every day.
Here’s what she shared with us.
The Post: Can you tell us a bit about your role at The Post? Is it a mix of tours and community support?
Chelsea Dietz: I help out with a variety of things, depending on what our members need.
That could include tech support, facilitating conversations between members, doing tours and helping to sell our office spaces, or even proofreading and reviewing job applications for some of our members.
I love this mix because it makes each day a little different. My favorite element of my job is helping people meet one another in our space.
Our members get so much value out of this because it can help them find partners or sponsorships for their businesses or simply make friends with someone in the same industry. I love how interconnected our community is.
What are your favorite elements of your work at The Post?
The best part of my job is definitely connecting with our members. We all really feel like a big professional family.
For example, we have a mother at The Post who uses our space to homeschool her son. When they come in the mornings, he’ll share his stuffed animal of the day and tell us about what he’s currently learning. It’s definitely a highlight of my morning here!
I also really love planning and hosting events. We put on a lot of member events at The Post, and I really enjoy making these happen!
You mentioned each day is a little different—what would a typical morning look like for you?
In the early morning, I spend some time with my kids before I start getting ready.
Once I’m ready, I head out to The Post. I don’t have coffee until I get to the office because we have such an amazing coffee bean selection from Cartel Roasting Co here.
So, the first thing I do when I come in each morning is brew a fresh pot for our members.
Then, I’ll grab my coffee, sit down at my desk with the sunlight coming in, and get caught up on my emails and messages. This is all before 9 a.m.
Right now, I’m also facilitating property management, so I’ll do some building walk-throughs before 9 o’clock hits. That’s when member interactions start.
We’ll say hi and welcome people in.
Each month, we host a special breakfast for our members. This is something I really enjoy helping out with.
On other days, I’ll stop by a store to buy fresh, hot bagels or a colorful flower bouquet to brighten up the space for everyone here.
What does the rest of your day look like?
After coffee and breakfast are taken care of and before people start coming in, I’ll do the tech setup.
For example, I go through all of our meeting rooms and make sure all of our tech and AV equipment are up and running.
I want to make sure that when our members start strolling in, they can forget about the day-to-day setup and just focus on getting their work done.
Around noon, I check on our members’ mail and deliver any packages.
The rest of the day is spent facilitating member introductions, checking in and making sure our members have everything they need, and giving tours of our offices to potential members.
Right now, during our summer season, we typically host a couple of tours each week.
During our busiest season, which is during the fall and winter, that can be anywhere from two to eight tours a day. Sometimes, I’m touring back to back all day!
As we approach closing time, I’ll go into checklist mode, making sure all requests are taken care of and checking if any packages need to be mailed out.
Then, I say my goodbyes to members and call it a day. Although it can get busy here at The Post, my role here is so fulfilling, and I love the impact we make on our members!
At The Post, we dedicate ourselves to helping our members feel supported and help them achieve their overarching goals.
From complimentary coffee to fostering introductions for mutually beneficial relationships to tech support, we take the thinking out of your day-to-day so you can focus on getting your work done.
