Member Spotlight: Homebuying Made Easy with The Alder Group

Chelle Peterson

For homebuyers, the process of finding and buying their forever home is one of the biggest, most exciting, and most nerve-wracking experiences of their lives.

And for Deric DiCamillo and Allie Pastore, Co-Owners of The Alder Group at Realty Executives Arizona Territory, making the experience easy and enjoyable is all in a day’s work.

Building a Business Rooted in a Passion for Helping People

Back in 2019, Allie and Deric broke into the real estate industry as buyers’ agents, working with homebuyers to purchase homes.

Then, in October of 2020, they had an opportunity to pursue a new and exciting venture.

“Late last year, we were invited to join another brokerage and start a team of our own,” says Deric. “Since then, our roles have really shifted towards being team leaders. And that’s how The Alder Group was founded.”

With complementary skills, Deric and Allie make a perfect team: Allie specializes in high-value residential listings while Deric focuses on first-time homebuyers and military relocations.

But one thing they share is their passion for helping people to navigate the world of real estate.

“Our work is really rewarding,” says Allie. “It’s really special being such a large part of one of the biggest decisions of somebody’s life. I love earning their trust and ensuring it works out and they get the home they dreamed of.”

Deric adds, “I agree. I really enjoy helping people with something that’s so important to them.”

Creating a Close-Knit Community of Clients Turned Friends

It’s not just helping people find their dream homes that get Deric and Allie out of bed in the morning. Building deep and long-lasting relationships with their clients is another perk of working in real estate.

“It’s amazing being able to build lifelong connections with our clients,” says Deric. “We’re helping people find their homes and navigate the process but, as an added benefit, we’re also sort of creating a community of friends that we’ve helped through this.”

Allie adds, “We love building our network and creating strong rapports with such great people.”

Finding a Home for The Alder Group at The Post

When Allie and Deric decided to change brokerages and pivot their roles, it was time to find office space of their own.

Allie explains, “When we got the opportunity to start our own team in October, we knew it was time to start looking for an office space of our own. We needed somewhere that we could host clients and could act as our home base.”

But given the on-the-go nature of the real estate business, they also needed a space that was centrally located–something that’s a rarity in Tucson.

The Post proved to be the perfect place to call home for their business.

“We’re on the road all the time,” says Allie. “We have to go all over the city, so the ability to come and go and to easily get where we need to be was a big selling point. The Post is situated in a very central location.”

The Post also offered them a place to get focused and work hard.

“I’m a person who can’t concentrate for hours on end,” admits Deric. “And I get distracted working at home. So, our private office space is the perfect place. We can go there, regenerate, shut the door, and get to work.”

He adds, “It’s soundproof, too, so I can even put on music when I’m in there on my own.”

One other very important perk of working at The Post? The coffee!

“They have Cartel Coffee at The Post,” explains Allie. “It’s our favorite coffee in town and we can have as much as we want, on the house!”

Looking Ahead at What’s Next for The Alder Group

Allie and Deric have big plans for The Alder Group going forward.

“Our primary goal is to help even more clients,” says Allie. “In 2020, we helped 64 families find their dream homes. And this year, our goal is to help 100 families. We want to support people in this milestone moment in their lives and to help them build wealth with real estate.”

Deric adds, “We also want to grow a team and help other new agents to start their businesses. For anybody starting out as a real estate professional, starting your business right is really important that you start off right.”
