From sports to family to leadership coaching, Troy Jacobson puts his heart into everything he does. Originally from Maryland, Troy moved to Tucson back in 2008, where he currently lives with his partner and two daughters.
We recently sat down with Troy to learn a bit more about his work as an executive leadership coach and how he got to where he is today.
As an avid triathlete, Troy started his career in the Sports and Recreation industry in his early 20s. He opened two triathlon and bike shops in the mid-Atlantic region as well as a fitness studio.
Troy participated in a number of triathlons and Ironman competitions during this time and combined his passion for sport with a passion for business.
His main entrepreneurial focus at the time was coaching athletes and producing indoor cycling workout videos—originally on VHS before moving to DVD and now streaming platforms. In fact, his brand was the worldwide leader in that category for a number of years.
In 2008, Troy was recruited by a publicly-traded health club brand that operated over 100 locations nationwide. They acquired his business and he moved into a role in the sports coaching and training division, leading over 400 people.
This leadership experience was transformational. It prompted Troy to transition out of the role four years ago and leverage his knowledge and skills to work for himself.
Troy became an Executive Leadership Coach and Business Consultant, supporting professionals and companies to grow in their leadership, culture, and strategy.
Today, Troy works as a CEO Coach for Vistage Worldwide Inc. and as the managing partner of 3-Pillars Performance Group. He’s loving his purpose and impact in these roles and saw rapid growth after the pandemic lockdown.
Recognizing a need for more productivity and a growth-oriented environment, Troy transitioned from his home office to The Post. He loves having a private office to meet with clients for leadership training and strategic planning.
You can connect with Troy on LinkedIn or through his company, 3-Pillars Performance Group.
