There’s no time in Tucson that’s quite like September. We’ve beaten the heat, the weather’s beautiful, and there’s a ton of great fun events to look forward to.

Here are ten events, festivals, and concerts happening in Tucson and Oro Valley this month. 

1. See John Legend in Concert

Date and Time: Friday, September 24 at 8:00 PM

Location: Casino Del Soul, 5655 W Valencia Rd

Cost: Tickets starting at $51 (check online for availability)

What’s going on: Multiplatinum Grammy-winning singer John Legend is bringing his Bigger Love Tour to Tucson! If you love R&B, this is a concert you won’t want to miss.

2. Catch a UA Wildcats Game

Date and Time: Every Saturday (schedule and tickets here)

Location: Arizona Stadium, 1 N National Championship Dr

Cost: Tickets starting at $6  

What’s going on: Head out for a Saturday night football game (or watch one on TV) as the University of Arizona Wildcats get their season underway.

3. See Ice Cube in Concert 

Date and Time: Saturday, September 11 at 8:00 PM

Location: Casino Del Soul, 5655 W Valencia Rd

Cost: Tickets starting at $77 (check online for availability)

What’s going on: If you’re a fan of hip-hop, you won’t want to miss the chance to see legendary award-winning musician, actor, director, producer and basketball CEO Ice Cube live in concert!

4. GLOW! a nighttime art experience

Date and Time: Saturday, September 9, from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Location: Triangle L Ranch, 2085 North Triangle L Ranch Road

Cost: $15 for adults, $8 for kids aged 4 to 13, free for kids under 3

What’s going on: Jump into an illuminating wonderland of lights and magic with the return of GLOW! at the Triangle L Ranch. Let the twinkle-light path guide you through five acres of glowing sculptures, multi-media installations, performances, music, and more.

5. The Office Binge-Watch – Free Outdoor Screening at the UA

Date and Time: Friday, September 8, at 9 a.m.

Location: Highland Bowl on the University of Arizona campus

Cost: Free (but make sure to bring your own “World’s Best Boss” mug)

What’s going on: Tell your family and friends you’re tied up at “the office” as you binge-watch some of the best episodes of The Office at a free outdoor screening. We cannot wait!

6. Make & Sip: Mid-Year Vision Boards, BYOB

Date and Time: Friday, September 1, from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.

Location: Creative Tribe, 236 South Scott Avenue

Cost: $7 per person

What’s going on: We don’t know about you, but we find the final days of summer to be rejuvenating! So, get your friends together for a night of crafting at Creative Tribe where you can create and take home a vision board that will help you finish out the rest of the year strong. The organizer will provide the supplies. You just need to bring your own booze!

7. Succulent Bowls + Mimosas at Green Things

Date and Time: Saturday, September 2, from 10:00 a.m until noon

Location: Green Things, 3384 East River Road

Cost: Free to attend but bring cash for supplies (bowls start at $5 and succulents start at $1.99)

What’s going on: Speaking of getting crafty, here’s another awesome event you’ll love. Be fancy and build a cute little succulent garden while sipping on mimosas. This is a great way to add a little custom greenery to your home or your desk at The Post!

8. Dog Portraits in the Gardens

Date and Time: Monday, September 11, from 7:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m.

Location: Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 North Alvernon Way

Cost: $10 for one pose, $15 for two poses

What’s going on: Get a professional portrait done of your pet BFF by photographer Vicky Stromee at the Tucson Botanical Gardens. It’s part of the garden’s Summer Oasis Series and Dog Days Of Summer, where leashed dogs can explore the grounds.

9. Yoga and Beer

Date and Time: Every Monday in September from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. 

Location: Arizona Beer House, 150 South Kolb Road

Cost: Free! But donations for the instructor are welcomed and encouraged. You’ll also have to pay for your pints.

What’s going on: Think beer and yoga don’t go together? Think again! The Arizona Beer House is now offering free yoga on Monday evenings. Bring your yoga mat, enjoy a yoga session, then stay for a beer and dinner.

10. Are you Sirius: A Harry Potter Trivia Night Fundraiser

Date and Time: Tuesday, September 26, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Location: Arizona Beer House, 150 South Kolb Road

Cost: By donation ($10 is recommended) 

What’s going on: Show how much of a real wizard you are at a Harry Potter trivia night hosted by Make Way for Books. You can compete in teams or individually. Dressing up is strongly encouraged. Please be careful with your wands and spells.
