Spring Break might be a thing of the past for most of us, but that doesn’t mean March is a boring month! In fact, there are tons of things to do in Tucson in March. 

Whether you’re looking for St. Patrick’s Day festivities or family-friendly events, there’s something for you! Here are the top 11 things to do in Tucson in March 2022.

1. Harlem Globetrotters

Date and Time: Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Tucson Arena, 260 South Church Street.

Cost: Tickets start at $20.

What’s going on: This is an action-packed event for the whole family! The Harlem Globetrotters bring the best of basketball to a court near you, with gravity-defying dunks and fun on-court characters to bring out the laughs!

2. The SpongeBob Musical

Date and Time: Thursday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. 

Location: Pima Community College, 2202 West Anklam Road.

Cost: Tickets are $24 (discounts available).

What’s going on: We all remember the iconic Nickelodeon series! What’s better than reliving those memories on stage as a musical! Bring out your family and enjoy this silly musical with a meaningful message of friendship. 

3. Walk MS: Tucson

Date and Time: Saturday, March 5; site opens at 7:30 a.m.

Location: Reid Park, 900 S. Randolph Way.

Cost: Fundraising event; sign up to raise money for your walk!

What’s going on: This event is for an amazing cause. The Walk MS event is happening all throughout the United States to raise money and support for those living with MS (multiple sclerosis).

4. Abba Mania

Date and Time: Wednesday, March 9 at 8:00 p.m.

Location: Rialto Theater, 318 Congress Street.

Cost: Tickets start at $22.50.

What’s going on: This event will take you right back in time! It’s an experience like no other where you’ll see recreated classics of ABBA, one of the world’s most iconic pop groups. You’re sure to be singing along to the music long after the show is done!

5. Living History Day at the Presidio Museum

Date and Time: Saturday, March 12 from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

Location: Presidio San Agustín del Tucson Museum, 196 N. Court Avenue.

Cost: Free with the price of admission ($5.00).

What’s going on: This is an opportunity to step back and relive history. The museum comes alive during this event, showing guests what it would be like to live during the 18th Century. There are activities like blacksmithing, homemade tortilla tasting, and firing a canon.

6. Tucson Official St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

Date and Time: Thursday, March 17 at 5:00 p.m. onwards.

Location: Start at O’Malley’s Bar & Grill, 247 North 4th Avenue.

Cost: $10.99 for tickets plus the cost of drinks.

What’s going on: It’s time to go through your closet and pick out a green outfit! Join others for the official Tucson St. Patrick’s day bar crawl. You’ll experience some of the best bars in the city with some awesome drink specials. 

7. St. Patrick’s Day Cookie Decorating

Date and Time: Thursday, March 17 at 6:00 p.m.

Location: Spark Project Collective, 4349 E. Broadway Boulevard.

Cost: Two free cookies per person; $1.00 for two more.

What’s going on: Cookies + St. Patrick’s Day = a fun, creative, and delicious evening out! Proceeds for this fun family event go towards the Spark Project Collective Arts Center.

8. Underwater Bubble Show

Date and Time: Friday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Fox Tucson Theater, 17 W. Congress Street.

Cost: Tickets start at $25.00.

What’s going on: This show is sure to take your breath away! Inspired by the likes of Cirque du Soleil, this show has spectacular stunts and innovative technology that simulate an underwater environment. You’ll enjoy the jugglers, acrobats, and dancers in this showstopping event!

9. Mezcal Tasting at The Tuxon

Date and Time: Saturday, March 19 at 6:00 p.m.

Location: The Tuxon Hotel, 960 South Freeway.

Cost: Tickets are $40.

What’s going on: Immerse yourself in Oaxacan culture with this Mezcal tasting and clay cup painting workshop. Tickets include painting supplies, Mezcal tasting, and an expert guide to walk you through it.

10. Bob’s Burgers Trivia Night at Crooked Tooth

Date and Time: Thursday, March 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Crooked Tooth Brewing Co., 228 E. 6th Street.

Cost: Free entrance; bring money for drinks and food.

What’s going on: If you’re a Bob’s Burgers fan, this one’s for you! Make sure to grab a few close friends and come on out for a fun trivia night. You can enjoy some beers at Crooked Tooth Brewing Co. and try to win the grand prize ($35 gift card plus bragging rights!).

11. Monster Jam

What’s going on: This action-packed event cannot be missed. Monster Jam will take your breath away with intense competitions, insane stunts, and impressive freestyle skills.
