1. Paul Valadez: Selections from the Great Mexican-American Songbook 

Date and Time: June 24th to September 6th, 2024, 11 am-3:00 pm

Location: The University of Arizona Museum of Art 1031 N Olive Road,

Cost: $8 for general admission, $6 for seniors 65+ and groups of 10+, and free for members

What’s going on: Immerse yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of Mexican-American music at Paul Valadez’s Great Mexican-American Songbook exhibition. Created to answer the quintessential question, “What is an American songbook?”, this exhibition showcases Valadez’s unique artistic interpretation of Mexican-American heritage. With iconic songs and blending vibrant visuals, it’s sure to be brimming with nostalgia. 2. 30th Anniversary Fireworks Celebration at Casino Del Sol Resort 

Date and Time: July 3rd, 2024, 8:15 pm 

Location: AVA Amphitheater 5655 W. Valencia Rd.

Cost: Free

What’s going on: Casino Del Sol, host of this season’s Epson golf tournament, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a dazzling display of fireworks and festive fun. 3. FC Tucson vs. Arizona Arsenal 4th of July Party

Date and Time: July 3, 7 pm

Location: Kino Sports Complex 2500 E. Ajo Way Tucson

Cost: $12 for general admission, $10/person for a family pack

What’s going on: Celebrate the 4th of July with a thrilling soccer showdown as FC Tucson takes on Arizona Arsenal. This exciting match at Kino North Stadium is the perfect way to enjoy Independence Day and combine high-energy sports action with cheer. 4. Oro Valley July 4th Celebration

Location: Kino Sports Complex 2500 E Ajo 

Cost: Free

What’s going on: If you’re not all that into sports, this Oro Valley event is another way to celebrate the upcoming 4th of July. Held at James D. Kriegh Park, this festive event features live entertainment, mouth-watering street food, and a special Kids Zone packed with activities. 5. Monsoon Party  

Date and Time: July 13, 2-6 pm

Location: Trail Dust Town 6541 E Tanque Verde Rd Tucson

Cost: $10.87 for general admission, $16.31 for VIP 

What’s going on: Dive into the excitement of the Monsoon Party at The Highlands at Dove Mountain, sure to be both a vibrant and refreshing celebration of the summer season. This lively event features a rejuvenating poolside atmosphere, complete with delicious food, ice-cold drinks, and live music that will keep you dancing all day long. It’s really the perfect way to beat the Tucson heat!

6. Sweet Corn Extravaganza 

Date and Time: July 13, 2024-August 11, 7 am-5 pm (closed on Mondays)

Location: 6405 W. Williams Road Willcox

Cost: Bring cash or a card for purchasing produce (you can find their producing pricing on their website). 

What’s going on: Get ready for a cornucopia of fun at the Sweet Corn Extravaganza at Apple Annie’s Orchard. This delightful event celebrates the summer harvest with an array of activities centered around delicious, farm-fresh sweet corn. Enjoy mouth-watering corn dishes, take a scenic hayride through the fields, and let the kids loose in the corn maze for a day packed with family-friendly entertainment. Come for your craving for delicious corn, and leave with lots of fun memories!

7. Slash S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival 

Date and Time: July 14, 2024, 8 pm 

Location: AVA Amphitheatre, Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott Avenue

Cost: $28.00 to $370.00 ($401+ if you book an ava concert + hotel package)

What’s going on: If you love rock ‘n roll and blues, you’re not going to want to miss out on this all-star lineup. Happening right here in Tucson, Slash Ranch’s S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival features an epic lineup of legendary artists, like Slash, the Warren Haynes Band, Samantha Fish, and Eric Gales. Grab a beer, enjoy throwback hits, and take in the Tucson sunset at this sure-to-be-unforgettable event.  

8. Cocktail Class: July Summer Sour Series
