We hope you’re having a great summer so far! What kind of adventures have you been up to? Although we’re already in the month of August, there’s plenty of summer left to enjoy. August is full of amazing things to do in Tucson.

We love this city and we love exploring everything it has to offer. From music to margaritas, there’s tons to do this month!

Here are 12 things to do in August in Tucson, Arizona.

1. Tucson Business Networking Breakfast

Date and Time: Thursday, August 4th at 8:00 a.m.

Location: El Conquistador Tucson, 10000 N. Oracle Roa

What’s going on: This event is a great way to network with other professionals in Tucson while enjoying a delicious brunch buffet! They host regular networking events, too, so if you can’t catch it in August, try another month. 

2. Steinfeld Artists Summer Exhibition/Artwalk

Date and Time: Saturday, August 6th from 4:00-9:00 p.m.

Location: Steinfeld Warehouse Community Arts Center, 101 W. 6th Street

What’s going on: Tap into your artistic side with the Summer Artists Exhibition at Steinfeld Gallery. There will be a DJ playing while you check out the amazing artwork! 

3. Casa Flamenca Flamenco Workshop 

Date and Time: Saturday, August 6th from 2:30-4:30 p.m.

Location: Floor Polish Dance Studio, 930 North Stone Avenue

Cost: $50.00

What’s going on: Get your dancing shoes on! Join this amazing opportunity to learn from the best. Helmo Cortés is a world-renowned flamenco dancer, visiting from Spain. All skill levels are welcome to join this dance class. 

4. Cocktails and Cosmos: Light Up Tucson

Date and Time: August 12th from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Location: Flandrau Science Center, 1601 E University Boulevard

Cost: $50.00

What’s going on: Join us for a fun evening of stargazing, drinks, a live auction, and more—all for a good cause! Proceeds from this fundraiser go to supporting youth who are struggling with anxiety and depression.

5. Southeast Arizona Birding Festival 

Date and Time: August 10-14

Location: Festival headquarters at Double Tree by Hilton—Reid Park, 445 S. Alvernon Way

Cost: $30.00 registration fee + event-specific entrance fees 

What’s going on: Learn from some of the top experts in birding at this festival. There is a wide range of field trips, birding outings, workshops, socials, and a nature expo. You can stay for the whole festival or pick and choose what events you want to attend. 

6. Monsoon Brass

Date and Time: Wednesday, August 17th at 7:00 p.m.

Location: Holsclaw Hall, 1017 N Olive Road

Cost: $30.00

What’s going on: Monsoon Brass has been a dominant musical force in Arizona since 2016. Join them for a beautiful night of jazz music, with food and drinks to follow the concert.

7. Skate Country Cyber Night

Date and Time: August 18th from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Location: Skate Country, 7980 East 22nd Street

Cost: $16.00

What’s going on: Looking for a fun date idea or night out with friends? Come to this event featuring 80s and 90s hip hop and to 40 music. There will be music, food, and costumes for the best dressed. Lace up your skates, and let’s go!

8. Celebrate All Things S-cuksọn/Tucson

Date and Time: August 20th from 6:30-9:00 p.m.

Location: Presidio San Agustin del Tucson Museum, 196 N. Court Avenue

Cost: Free

What’s going on: Tucson’s turning 247! This free event celebrates the official founding of modern-day Tucson. There will be mariachi, dancing, family activities, a taco cash bar, and more!

9. 22nd Annual Tucson Health and Wellness Expo

Date and Time: Saturday, August 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Doubletree Hotel at Reid Park, 445 South Alvernon Way

Cost: Free

What’s going on: Experience the latest in fitness, health, nutrition, and wellness at this annual event. You can explore the expo and connect with companies or hear from experts in the industry at seminars.

10. Tucson 5000 & FitKidz Mile

Date and Time: Saturday, August 20th at 6:30 a.m.

Location: Reid Park 

Cost: Free for the FitKidz mile; $35 for the 5K run.

What’s going on: This 5K run is for a great cause! Lace up your sneakers and join us for a 5K run through Reid Park. Proceeds go to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America’s Arizona chapter.

11. Wine Thursdays: Willcox Wine

Date and Time: Thursday, August 25 at 7:00 p.m.

Location: The Century Room, 311 E Congress Street

Cost: $30.00

What’s going on: Try some of the best Willcox wines during this guided tasting event. Tickets include four tastings, light bites to eat, guided tasting, and live piano music.

12. World Margarita Championship

Date and Time: Friday, August 26th from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Location: CATALYST Arts & Maker Space, Tucson Mall, 4500 N. Oracle Road
