Summer is in full swing and you know what that means: 4th of July parties, family outings, poolside hangouts, and lots of great food and drink. 

This July 2023 is jam-packed with awesome things to do in Tucson. So, grab your friends and family and do something fun this summer!

Here are 13 things to do in Tucson this July 2023. 

1. Red, White, & Brew

Date and Time: July 3 from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Location: Hacienda Del Sol Guest Ranch Resort

Cost: $50.00 for the buffet, $70.00 for buffet and beer

What’s going on: Back for the seventh year in a row, this exciting event includes unlimited beer tastings from Arizona breweries, an Independence Day-inspired buffet, and live music. 

2. Town of Marana Presents: Star-Spangled Spectacular

Date and Time: July 4 from 5:00-9:30 p.m.

Location: Crossroads Park, 7548 North Silverbell Road

Cost: Free

What’s going on: Festivities for this annual spectacular include a car show, splash pad, field games, vendors, and a petting zoo—all topped off with an exciting fireworks display. 

3. IndepenDANCE Party

Date and Time: July 4 from 7:00-10:00 p.m.

Location: The Annex at 267 S Avenida del Convento

Cost: $10.00

What’s going on: Celebrate Independence Day this year with an exhilarating dance party! Experience the energy of Latin and hip-hop beats with different on-site DJs, grab something to eat at one of the food trucks, and enjoy the night with your friends. 

4. July 4th Celebration

Location: James D. Kriegh Park, 23 W. Calle Concordia

Cost: Free

What’s going on: Join the town of Oro Valley to celebrate Independence Day with music, food trucks, jumping castles, a beer garden, and so much more. The night finishes with spectacular fireworks lighting up the sky. 

5. Tropical Pig Roast

Date and Time: July 8 from 6:00 p.m.-midnight

Location: The Downtown Clifton, 485 South Stone Avenue

Cost: Tickets start at $30.00

What’s going on: Feast on some succulent roasted pork while sipping on fruity cocktails at this fun summer event. There will be tropical beats to dance the night away to, as well! Don’t forget to bring out some friends and wear your favorite Hawaiian shirts. 

6. Night Wings 2023

Date and Time: July 8 and 29 from 5:00-8:00 p.m.

Location: Pima Air & Space Museum

Cost: Tickets for children under 12 are free, 13+ are $10.00

What’s going on: There’s something about visiting a museum at night where it really comes alive. So, check out this kid-focused evening special event at the Pima Air & Space Museum in the cool of the evening.  

7. The Music of the Carpenters

Date and Time: July 10 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Location: The Gaslight Theatre, 7010 E Broadway

Cost: Tickets start at $27.00

What’s going on: Enjoy some classic tunes at this tribute to The Carpenters. Featured songs include “Close to You,” “We’ve Only Just Begun,” and “Rainy Days and Mondays.”

8. WWRC 2023 Annual Conference

Date and Time: July 11-12 from 9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Location: University of Arizona Student Union, 1303 East University Boulevard

Cost: Tickets start at $30.00

What’s going on: The University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center is hosting the two-day “What Can We Do? Solutions to Arizona’s Water Challenges” conference. This year, the focus is on addressing pressing water resource challenges facing the state and focusing on solutions for water security. 

9. Movies in the Park

Location: George DeMeester Performance Center at Reid Park, 900 S Randolph Way

What’s going on: Bring your family and friends, some blankets, and cash to buy delicious snacks at this fun community event. Then, snuggle in and enjoy feature films: “Superpets” on July 14 and “Strange World” on July 28. 

10. MotoSonora Pool Party

Location: MotoSonora Brewing Co, 1015 South Park Avenue

Cost: Tickets start at $45.00

What’s going on: Cool down with the best pool party of the year! MotoSonora and Tucson Foodie join forces to host this grand-opening celebration that includes music, pool time, and refreshing drinks. 

11. World Snake Day at Kartchner Caverns

Location: Kartchner Caverns State Park

Cost: Free event; $7.00/day parking fee for the park

What’s going on: Celebrate World Snake Day by learning from Bill CSchuamacher, the “Snake Guy” who’s been rescuing and relocating snakes all over the country. He will bring some amazing snakes and offer a free educational program from 9-11 a.m. on this day. 

12. End of Summer Splash

Location: Funtastics Park, 221 E Wetmore Road

Cost: Free

What’s going on: Say goodbye to summer at this fun family-friendly event at Funtastics Park. You’ll receive access to all-day wristbands for the waterpark, raffles, prizes, sunglasses, games, and in-and-out privileges. 

13. Summer Block Party
