Here are our top 13 things to do in Tucson in March 2023.  

1. Magic & Mystery Dinner Theatre

Location: Dante’s Fire, 2526 E Grant Road

Cost: Tickets start at $49.00

What’s going on: Fine dining and mystery—what could be better? Immerse yourself in a live theater experience while enjoying a 3-course meal prepared by Chef Ken, who won the Iron Chef award of Southern Arizona. 

2. Tucson Festival of Books

Cost: Free to the public 

What’s going on: Do you love books? This is the event for you! Join live readings, author meet-and-greets, and book-related exhibits and activities. Senator Bernie Sanders is also set to appear at this event. 

3. Startup Drinks at Westbound @ MSA Annex with CIC

Location: Westbound @ MSA Annex, 267 South Avenida del Convento

Cost: Free 

What’s going on: Join other like-minded professionals at this free networking event, hosted by Startup Tucson and CIC (Community Investment Corporation). This casual and low-key event is great for Tucson entrepreneurs and business owners.  

4. Sunset Supper at Tucson Village Farm

Date and Time: March 11 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Location: Tucson Village Farm 4-H Healthy Living Center, 2201 East Roger Road

Cost: $54.06 per ticket

What’s going on: This farm-to-table dinner is hosted by Tucson Village Farm’s 4-H Healthy Living Ambassadors, led by chef Bruce Yim. Enjoy some refreshing cocktails and a delicious meal, where all proceeds go to support 4-H youth programming. 

5. Arizona Opera: The Sound of Music

Location: Tucson Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, 260 S Church Avenue

Cost: Tickets start at $30.00

What’s going on: Come out and enjoy this timeless classic. The Sound of Music has been enchanting audiences for decades on film and now on stage with the Arizona Opera.

6. Tucson Mardi Gras

What’s going on: Celebrate the 3rd annual Mardi Gras in Tucson—the best party there is. Enjoy Cajun cuisine, a parade, colorful beads and costumes, and more. 

7. Oro Valley Riverfront Park Classical Concert Series

Location: Riverfront Park Amphitheatre, 551 W. Lambert Lane, Oro Valley 

Cost: Free entrance; upgrade packages available for food, drinks, and VIP seating

What’s going on: The Town of Oro Valley and Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural Alliance have partnered in bringing classical music to residents of Oro Valley since 1997. Bring the family for this free event and don’t forget your blankets or chairs!  

8. Tucson Official St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl

Location: Various venues

Cost: Free to join; bring money for drinks 

What’s going on: Are you ready for some green beer and the luckiest night of your life? The St. Patrick’s bar crawl will take you to some of the best venues in town while facilitating a costume contest, exclusive drink specials, and live music.

9. St. Patrick’s Day Paint Party

Location: Hotel McCoy, 720 W. Silverlake Road

Cost: $40.00 

What’s going on: Create a St. Patty’s-themed wood panel painting while sipping on some local beer, wine, or coffee. No painting experience is required. 

10. Movie Screening: Harriet Tubman, Visions of Freedom

Cost: Free 

What’s going on: Celebrate Women’s History Month with a screening of the award-winning documentary Harriet Tubman: Visions of Freedom. Tubman was a key conductor of the Underground Railroad, liberating many from slavery. The evening will include the screening and a panel Q&A discussion with experts from the University of Arizona. 

11. Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona Air Show

Location: Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Tucson 85707

Cost: Free to the public with upgrade tickets available

What’s going on: Check out the dynamic aerial displays of the Davis-Monthan Air Force with your family. This weekend-long event is a chance to see some unique aircraft and exhilarating air shows.  

12. Broadway in Tucson: Mean Girls

What’s going on: You’ve seen the classic 2000s comedy and now it’s time to see the hilarious hit musical alive on stage. Mean Girls is hilarious, energetic, and full of memorable music.
